Preparation: 12 minutes plus chilling
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 Berry Splash tea bags
  • 1½ cups hot water
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • ½ cup mixed strawberries, raspberries or blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Optional honey
  • Ice
  • Lime wheels for garnish

How to Make

  1. Brew the tea. Place the Berry Splash Tea in an infuser or teapot. Pour the freshly boiled water over the tea and steep for 7–10 minutes. Allowing the tea to steep fully creates a strong berry flavour that will not become diluted by the ice and coconut water.
  2. Sweeten the tea. Remove the infuser or strain out the loose tea. If you prefer a sweeter drink, stir honey or simple syrup into the tea while it is still warm.
  3. Cool the tea. Let the brewed tea cool at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until completely chilled.
  4. Prepare the berries. Place the mixed berries in the bottom of a pitcher. Gently press them two or three times with a spoon or muddler to release some juice. Do not crush them completely.
  5. Combine the drink. Pour the chilled Berry Splash Tea into the pitcher. Add the coconut water and fresh lime juice, then stir gently until everything is combined.
  6. Taste and adjust. Taste the iced tea before serving. Add a little more lime for brightness or a small amount of sweetener if the berries are tart.
  7. Fill the glasses. Add ice to two tall glasses and divide the tea mixture evenly between them. Spoon some of the fresh berries into each glass.
  8. Garnish and serve. Finish with a lime wheel and fresh mint, if desired. Serve immediately while the tea is cold and refreshing.
